This Acceptable Use Policy supplements the Terms of Service. By using our services, you agree to comply with both documents and any other policies that apply to your account.
Use of services
Account use, resource expectations, mailboxes, and resale.
- 1.1 We may suspend or cancel access to any or all services when we determine that an account has been used inappropriately. We also reserve the right to refuse services or server access.
- 1.2 Some account types may include unlimited web space or bandwidth. “Unlimited” applies to legitimate website content and traffic from visitors viewing that website. Files hosted on a domain must form part of the active website and be linked to it, and all content must comply with this policy.
- 1.3 Some services include unlimited or burstable bandwidth and burstable RAM. Temporary bursts are acceptable; continuously consuming an unreasonable excess of these resources is not.
- 1.4 Some account types include large numbers of mailboxes under a fair use policy. Mailboxes are for direct use by the package owner and may not be resold or offered to third parties. If a website has more than 100 active mailboxes, we may restrict the number included in the package price.
- 1.5 We may delete mailboxes, including their contents, when they have not been accessed for 180 days.
- 1.6 We may suspend or cancel an account that contains invalid or fraudulent details, initiates a payment-card chargeback, or uses another method to reverse a payment.
- 1.7 You may not resell or offer any part of our services for third-party use unless you have purchased a reseller package or dedicated server, or have explicit written permission from FreeHosting.com.
Acceptable use guidelines
Activities and hosting patterns that are not permitted.
You may not use the services:
- To host a website on a free-to-register domain, including domains in TLD zones that provide registration without mandatory payment, or domains/subdomains supplied by dynamic DNS providers. Subdomains are treated as free-to-register domains regardless of ownership of the sponsoring domain.
- To host a website on a domain you do not own. Ownership may be determined using public WHOIS records and/or FreeHosting.com customer records.
- In breach of applicable regulations, EU law, or international law, or for fraudulent purposes.
- To host material that violates the content guidelines below.
- To send or permit unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional material, spam, or unsolicited commercial email (UCE).
- To publish or distribute warez, copyrighted material without permission, or other illegal material. You are responsible for demonstrating that you have the right to publish hosted material.
- For file-sharing or peer-to-peer activity.
- As general-purpose file storage. Uploaded files must be visible and accessible through the hosted website, except hidden files required for website operation. We may remove files that do not meet these criteria without notice.
- To store audio or video surveillance data unless the published service description explicitly permits it.
- As an application server. Generating large volumes of email from a database is one example of prohibited application-server use.
- To provide HTTP downloads that are unrelated to the subject matter of the website. Multimedia content should be streamed where appropriate. We may archive download content that we determine is unnecessary for normal website operation.
Content guidelines
Standards that apply to material published or transmitted through our services.
Content must be accurate when stating facts and comply with applicable law. It must not:
- Defame any person, or be obscene, offensive, or inflammatory.
- Infringe copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.
- Be likely to deceive another person or promote or assist illegal activity.
- Be threatening or abusive, invade another person's privacy, or cause needless annoyance, inconvenience, or anxiety.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or organization.
- Contain child sexual abuse material or other depictions of child pornography as defined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
- Depict bestiality or non-consensual sexual activity.
Abusive strings and user-submitted content
Registrants may not register abusive strings in an sTLD, including strings that infringe third-party intellectual property, are obvious variants of well-known trademarks not belonging to the registrant, use another person's first and last name without authorization, or suggest the presence of child pornography.
If your website accepts end-user content such as forum posts or chat-room entries, you are responsible for ensuring that submitted content also complies with this policy.
Enforcement
How policy violations may be handled.
We determine, at our discretion, whether use of the services breaches this policy. A breach constitutes a material breach of our Terms and Conditions and may result in one or more of the following actions:
Service restriction
Immediate, temporary, or permanent withdrawal of your right to use the services.
Content action
Immediate, temporary, or permanent removal or archiving of content that breaches this policy.
Warning
A warning may be issued to you regarding the violation.
Legal action
We may pursue reimbursement of reasonable administrative or legal costs, take further legal action, or disclose information to law-enforcement authorities when reasonably necessary.
The actions above are not exhaustive. We may take other action that we reasonably consider appropriate, and we exclude liability for actions taken in response to breaches of this policy.

FreeHosting.com maintains a law-enforcement liaison function and is committed to assisting and cooperating with law-enforcement and government agencies in efforts to reduce internet crime.
